The CD 207 is our most popular carriage, because it is elegant enough to do well in dressage and has all the speed, extra stablity and safety features that make it the carriage of choice for many top drivers in Europe. This means you can forget about needing a second carriage for dressage and cones (and the larger trailer, etc) until you move up to Advanced level competition, at which point you would require a wider wheel base for dressage. The 207 has torsion bar springs up front, to allow for the swingle tree to be very deeply inset, bringing the horse as close to the carriage as regulations allow (and making the whole package shorter for tighter turns in the hazards/cones). It has custom made leaf springs in the back (smoother ride still), canted wheels to give extra stablity, and the rubber on the rims is shaved so that only about 1/4" actually touches the ground. It comes with the wood panelling, optional marathon or bench seat, which is adjustable forward and back, has a 5th wheel brake, removable (optional) back seats and is designed so that most of the weight is in the undercarriage, - one of the reasons for the way these carriages hug the ground.

Some people say this is the fastest carriage in the world. Tidaholm can’t take all the credit .. the whip and the horse have something to contribute but with the record shows that the X-treme is winning against the best in their class. Ben Simonsen, FEI Top Driver in 2004 and bronze medal winner at the Worlds the same year, has been driving this carriage for many years and has had a lot to with the innovations introduced along the way. In North America, the X-treme is being used at all levels of competition with marked success. Not only is Sterling Graburn, NA FEI Top Driver, singles, driving the Xtreme as of July 2005, but so are a growing number of training, preliminary and advanced drivers across the continent. This is the stripped version of the CD 207 – 30 pounds lighter, streamlined for increased speed, but extremely stable. If you are used to a heavier carriage, your navigator will need to adapt to what is a very responsive vehicle. Despite its lightness and the ease with which you can move it around hazards and lift it over obstacles, the lower center of gravity and design of the back step helps to keep you grounded. We have nothing but rave reviews for this extraordinarily fast but stable carriage.
